Makes sense why they said piss off Bolton.
Are there any takers for him now? He might end up coming to us on a free next summer

Edit: Just seen above. I suppose those two are a possibility. If I were Cahill I'd sooner hold out though. I reckon City were only interested because they didn't want anyone else signing him

Yeah Craig that is what I have been considering lately. Wenger did spend close to 20mil pounds on Arshavin not so long ago and he wasn't young/adjusted to the league or anything.

Maybe they are putting it all on the stadium. And TBH he does have an Economics degree so I would not be suprised if he wants to pay the stadium off as much as the club, I would not be suprised if he was kinda obsessed with doing it all worrying about the long term as much as possible i.e freeing the club of any debt etc...

I think he would be very good signing for them.

Savic is young and unproven, Lescott imo too slow and sluggish for CL and PL title contender and you never what condition or mental state Toure is after the ban and suspensions.

Maybe so, but if these players are the difference between top 4 and not getting a CL spot, then he's being stupid.

In the long term, then obviously the financials are important but in the meantime, failure to qualify for the CL would be a catastrophy for them.

It's great having a lovely big stadium and reaping the financial rewards it will bring, but if they're not in the CL, they will struggle to get the type of players needed to be successful.

There is defiantly something going on. Im sure Wenger would have spent money if he was aloud. I think he has been told by the higher ups that the stadium needs to be paid off. Wenger isnt stupid, and I suspect he is waiting it out til his hands are free'd.

In the meantime, he insists on telling all and sundry that the money IS there, thus making himself look culpable and taking all the flak onto his shoulders.

Think about how powerful they could be in a few years time with the FFP rules actually being put in place (if it ever happened)

they would be able to spend on players like nobody else in the PL would...

Too be for them City seem to be able to do what they want despite the rules in place...

Nah, that's not true. The mancs, with their fanbase AND stadium, would still generate more than the Arse. And, in all likelihood, so would we, with the right kind of worldwide marketing that FGS will put together.

Not exactly a signing to get excited about though is it! Like Gervinho, the guy is not a world class talent! Wengers signings baffle me!

I have to take issue with you there. From what I've seen Arsenal no longer have a system.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
