Mertesacker may get better as he gets used to the game, but for me his big problem seems to be that he is painfully slow at turning, which I can't see improving much with time. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

And anyone else notice how many times they are now simply hoofing the ball forwad from the back. Love it!!

Very fair point mate.Originally posted by Tee View PostI think even sixth place would be an achievement for them the way things are looking.
I was going to say that they'll struggle to finish sixth but I just can't imagine Arsenal doing that badly. Would be completely against the norm.
Yup, and another chap who started yesterday that I'd never even heard of too. Their keeper could turn out to be decent, Vermaelen is good when fit, Wilshere is good and van Persie is class (but again always injured). Other than that they have a squad full of ****e.Originally posted by Tee View PostThey have some serious ****e in their first team right now like Jenkinson.

Hodgson's league record at Liverpool was 24 points from 20 games, This current run of Arsenal form is worse than our time under the BodgeOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostIn fact, Arsenal's league form since the League Cup final is worse than what i posted:

21 league games and only 24 points taken....those two recent victories were against Swansea and Bolton at home.
It's relegation form.

I like Wenger and admire him greatly but I just cannot get my head round what he has done/is doing to that team. Maybe he has stayed on a bit longer than he should have. It would be a shame for it to end this way, but there is no question about the legacy he has left that club."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
