Yeah, but id say we are maybe one end of a spectrum. Where our analysis and punditry is about the science off football more than the emotion.

But others, people I know. They love the over the top reactions, crazy proclamations and characters.

There is a reason Robbie Savage gets work.

Ive listened to a fair bit of that Robbie guy (The owner I think) and hes not a stupid bloke. He knows his audience and knows what they want. He might look like a bit of a slough, but hes switched on.

Stuff like that makes me think there is more to him than meets the eye.

Also, I think a lot in the media look down their nose at people like AFTV and RedMen TV etc. Because they can connect with fans in a way a lot of the Football Entertainment world cant at the moment. They are pure passion. I personally hate it, but can see why people love it.

AFTV is hilarious at times imo, although it is clearly contrived. If a camera was on me during game, unbeknownst to me, it would make car crashing viewing for me and I suspect reasonably funny viewing for some other people. Thing is they obviously know they're being filmed and they clearly don't half ham it up. Every Gooner I know irl hates it.

Redmen TV and others tend to get the tone right, I think, just honest fan reaction, whereas AFTV just lives to become a meme, or so it seems to me. The post-match interviews, although they still make me laugh, and Troopz makes me laugh blud, have become a farce, mostly.

I don't know if it a good or a bad thing that I am so ignorant of racial slurs. Never heard that used before

That’s shocking. What a bunch of *******s. Is Ozil getting made redundant?

Pretty disgusting from Arsenal that. It's making me so sad and ****ing angry seeing all these jobs going across the UK. Sickening.

I have no idea how they have stadium debt. They've been as tight as a ducks arse for 20 years. Surely it is at a very low level and they could have refinanced it to the point they are paying so little interest per year it would be negligible

Must admit I'd find it very hard to take seeing Coutinho turn out for another Prem side

Your club. The state of them.

I was going to post about football wage cuts this week but couldn't be arsed. But some European clubs have taken pretty significant wage cuts while others like us haven't but I'm unsure how sustainable that is.

Anyway, i doubt Arsenal won't be the last to take this action.

Their abysmal european record since 2006 probably has something to do with that

no established premier league club should be laying people off.

Far too many use outsourced/casual workers including us as well.

If fans aren't allowed back into grounds for the majority of next season, or at significantly reduced capacity, how many clubs can survive that?

I've asked this before, because I'm sure the top clubs can ride it out (**** Man City), but with enormous consequences to their transfer budgets. What about the rest of the league? And the lower leagues?

There's also the uncertainty around travelling for the Champions League next season if countries start restricting things.

                              https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52529679

The PL clubs aren't as reliant on matchday income as the lower league sides, for PL clubs it looks like most PL matchday revenue accounts for less than 15% of their total income and is a bit more for the bigger clubs (up to 25% for Arsenal). So the biggest clubs in the PL will be hardest hit in terms of %. For our figures shown for the year reported we posted ~£40m profit and ~£80m matchday revenue, assuming everything else remains the same the loss of that income sees a £40m profit turn into a £40m loss, obviously comparisons aren't that simple as things change - presumably wages go up and there will be different transfer dealings year to year. But based on those numbers I can see why we are being cautious. And while I imagine most PL side should be able to ride it out it won't be easy and many might have to make tough decisions.

I suspect that the picture outside the PL is worse, for lower league clubs I imagine that the vast majority of their income comes from matchday revenue . You often hear how the share of the gate receipts from an FA Cup tie away at a big PL ground can keep the club going for a year or something, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if a number of football league clubs go in to administration or go bust.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Matchday finances won't take a full hit though. Associated costs like policing and road closures won't be incurred You're not making the revenue from selling pies and drinks but you are not having the outlay to source those items in the first place.
