Interesting to see how he goes, flourished at Leverkusen and looked the real deal. Never properly used at Chelsea (similar to Werner), I wonder where he’ll play in their 4-3-3 because he’s not a Jesus type player.

Arteta gave an interview some time back where he said that a player like Havertz could do a Van Pierse type role so maybe that is what he thinks he can bring.

I still think he is a lesser player than Jesus in the false 9 role and than Odegaard in the CM/AM role.

Maybe he is being bought as a high quality back up for both as I do think there is a good player in Havertz or maybe there is a big mnoney departure on the cards for Arsenal.

Maybe Jesus leaving and Havertz replacing him? Or one of the wide men going and Jesus going to the wide position and Havertz going into the false 9 role.

You know what? I think I am going to push on that last one. Havertz to replace Jesus who is going out wide to replace Saka who is replacing Salah at Liverpool who is going to PSG

TAA showed Saka what service he’ll get when he joins us the other day
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

                      £170m on two players.
Arsenal have gone full Boehly here.
Upgraded Xhaka and Aubamayang with Rice and Havertz.

                      Decent.
But bloody expensive for what they are.

I think they massively over paid for Rice but he’ll absolutely make them better. Havertz is a real enigma for me - unbelievable at Leverkusen but Chelsea couldn’t set up the team to get the best from him - if he’s played as an advanced 8 I think that’s his best role. Similar to what Dele Alli was…… it’s mad how he dropped off btw

They also want Timber and Lavia - that would be a great window for them tbh and the young players will only get better

Exactly, rice will improve them so if you can afford it spend good money once rather than bad money twice.

Like the Ali transfer, bargain of the century it seems now

Thought something similar when I heard the transfer news late last night. First thing that came into my head was that Rice will be a VVD level signing for Arsenal in terms of impact.

And just like VVD he will have loads of questions asked about the price and once the season is underway I suspect the questions will get asked less and less.

Best part of £200m thrown down on 2 players.

I expect media scrutiny to be at all time high.

...that's a £250m window for them. Wowsers... on a par with Citeh and the Chavs. Just needs the Barcodes to join in the spending spree with their bottomless wealth and it could be the GOAT of all PL seasons, with every GOAT playing here...

I guess the Chavs are selling everyone to the Saudis so they can free up FFP money rather than just 'pretending' to buy Haaland for £60m when it's nearer £200m with wages, agent fees, bonuses, etc.
