I won't lie, Arsenal were worse than I thought they would be. Maybe PSG are a good team after all. And maybe we did well taking them to penalties despite our own fatigue and injuries.Originally posted by memzey View PostI expect Arsenal will go to Paris and get the job done. It’s that type of strange season where things like that can happen. They’ll keep things tight at the back and with a couple of decent set pieces that’ll be enough.
If these are the best teams in Europe then surely Slot must be licking his lips at his next trophy. One tit for another.

Arteta has been there like 5 seasons now, spent north of 800m on defenders and DMs…. he’s massively improved them but his credit must be running out as he won just an FA Cup.Originally posted by Deano View PostAreteta is up there with Amorin on getting free passes
Amorim has been **** but hasn’t had the longevity of Arteta

In a time of city's fraudulent success, his league positions have been good. He's failed to win anything, he's no Jürgen Klopp, but he's done a pretty good job at arsenal all things considered. The Amorin comparison is disingenuous. Our title this season puts pressure on mind, but they're competitive at the top of the league, he's surely secure in his role.Originally posted by Deano View PostAreteta is up there with Amorin on getting free passesLast edited by Kenneth; 30-04-25, 09:41 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Yeah that decent analysis. They are a decent team but you can tell they are coached with some negative tactics and the absolute reliance on set piece is not enough to get them to where they want to be.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIt feels like they spend too much time on practising the bull**** (diving, petty fouls, lightbulbs and cringeworthy set piece choreography), time that would be more productively spent on learning attacking routines and shooting, etc. Arteta is focused on trying to be clever more than effective.
They ‘could’ turn the semi final around but it looks unlikely.
The post match analysis was good last night, and Rooney in particular questioned mind set. It happened last season when they went over board and Odegard took the photographers camera. They seemed to try a more pragmatic and less celebratory mind set this season but it still seems missing.Modifying post.

On Seccond Captains, the point was made about Arteta's attempts to maximise all the individual components of football has become less than the intended sum of its parts.
Specifically, what it all seems to add up to is a Allardyce-era Bolton approach to every free kick from everywhere on the pitch being a set piece where they do that ****in ridiculously annoying team dance move in the box. It's also lead to the players endlessly waving their arms at the fans to rouse them - like when they win a throw in midway in the opponents half. They are also by some distance the worst team left in the CL semis.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

What is the prick on about? They got 84 and 89 points in 38 games, we have 82 after 35 games we could still get 91 this season. Also whose fault is it that we won the title already with that points total? They didn’t push us very hard.
Also we finished second on 97 and 92 points so he can get to ****. Even though it is a meaningless game for us I really hope we beat these at the weekend. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
