I was less impressed. I thought they would batter Saints, so switched Marmoush to captain in my fantasy football team. Also had Watkins on the bench, doh!

I'd like to see City and Chelsea somehow drop out. That said I wish Newcastle wasn't in the mix.

I know they are a Sports-washing club, but at least they seem to be playing by the rules for now.

However, if City win their case against the PL, I think all restraints will be removed, and they will quickly become the richest club in world football.

City doped like hell at the start, they blew money like drunken sailors on absolute dross but some of it worked out and then they moved up. The Spanish leadership group under Soriano and Beguiristen (spelling) came in and turned the club around. They bought well, built one of the world’s best academy systems and now they are a very well run club. One of the best in the world tbh, the academy generates top players and money for them.

The Xmas splurge was within their PSR amounts but the quality looks questionable, in fact I think the last couple of years had seen a drop off in the recruitment quality from them.

However, it is all built on the original base of cheating so nothing they have achieved is merited

No denying that they’re a slick operation from top to bottom.

But it’s not like they’re playing straight now just because they’ve spent less of late by their standards, or because they’re recouping more legitimate money through academy sales, on top of the bogus income.

I think they are “straight” now but are using the courts and their bottomless pits of money to fight, I guess it’s their right to do so….. even if it absolutely stinks. But everything they have is built on industrial scale cheating from the past

They can’t be considered straight if their owner is pumping money into them through his other interests, ‘disguised’ through sponsorship deals that greatly exceed what any legitimate commercial partner would pay them. That’s ongoing financial cheating.

This is true and is my concern about the hearing and any punishment, they might get if they are found guilty, you can only punish them for the seasons they broke the rules, the fact that their initial rule breaking has allowed them to operate legitimately in subsequent season for which they won't be punished.
