It's done it's job and kept the season interesting until the end. But it's gimmicky and unfair, although teams understand that top two is automatic promotion. The third place could be seen as a bonus chance, even for 3rd place. It does impact the PL, sometimes promoting a club who are completely unprepared for it. I lived with a **** of a Brighton fan at university so have a senseless dislike of them.
