Looks like he is about to sign a one year contract.

It's a bold move for him and certainly one a lot of upcoming managers wouldn't fancy.

Reading are set to name ex-Manchester United and Netherlands defender Jaap Stam as their new manager.

The 43-year-old will take over from Brian McDermott at the Championship club after his second spell in charge of the Royals lasted just six months.

A coach at Ajax last season, he had been favourite to succeed McDermott.

Stam, part of United's 1998-99 treble-winning side during his three years at Old Trafford, is set to be unveiled at a press conference on Monday.

He will become the club's first non-British manager when he takes charge of a Reading side who finished 17th in the Championship last season.

Their owner must be the only person on earth who thought getting rid of Rowett for anyone let alone Zola made sense!

Villa can really screw Birmingham now, theres the derby later this week then Villa could roll over for Blackburn the week after. Forest right in the **** too.

Reality is he shouldnt get another job in football after that performance but the game is such that he'll be in another job by August.
