Yeah. He's smiling that much, it looks like he's about to get a massage and happy ending.

Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique is expected to undergo a medical at Liverpool FC later today after the two clubs agreed a fee.

It is understood Liverpool have had a bid of around £6million accepted for the 25-year-old Spaniard with the saga over his future finally approaching a climax.

"Liverpool FC confirmed today that they had agreed a fee with Newcastle United for the transfer of Jose Enrique," said a club statement.

"The club have now been given permission to discuss personal terms with the player, who will travel to Liverpool to undergo a medical."

Enrique, who joined the Magpies in a £6.3million switch from Villarreal in August 2007, has been a long-term target for Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish after emerging from a difficult start to his career on Tyneside to prove himself a capable Barclays Premier League player.

Dalglish has been looking to strengthen the left side of his defence ever since taking over from Roy Hodgson in January.

He allowed Paul Konchesky, a Hodgson signing last summer, to leave on loan and with Fabio Aurelio injured, he employed right-back Glen Johnson in that position for the remainder of the campaign.

Argentina international Emiliano Insua returned from a season-long loan at Galatasaray to rejoin the squad for training last month but his future is uncertain as 17-year-old reserve-team defender Jack Robinson showed at the end of the previous campaign he was capable of filling in.

The signing of Enrique would provide Liverpool with an all-new, more balanced and attacking left side having already recruited England winger Stewart Downing from Aston Villa.

He's not so great in the air, but he likes to get chalk on his boots and is strong. He's not as comfortable on the ball as Aurelio, nor his he renowned for his passing ability, but he'll get the ball over and does have a few tricks in his locker.

                    It's a very good signing.
I guess I should have typed it in this thread.

                        Over-paid for Henderson and Downing.

                        Underpaid for Adam and Enrique.

It all evens itself out in the end.

                        Welcome to LFC Jose

Watching those videos I was struck by how honest a player he seems, in terms of diving. Seen him fouled several times, blatently, and he tries to stay on his feet and keep going. Admirable in todays game!
