I'm not a huge Meireles fan, but Anelka is 32, out of favour and in his last year of contract at Chelsea.

Absolutely.

He's too old to be a long term solution and I doubt we'll see any spur of the moment short term fix buys going forward.

I'd take Ivanovic though.

Would be a very good addition for us, PL proven that can play as first choice CB right away and RB if need be.

He has been outstanding on a loan at Bolton and was one of their best players during the pre-season.

I agree mate. I think we should have took him as part of the Carroll deal when we had the chance.

Although Meireles is a good player he isn't essential to us right now, whereas another striker is. Sturridge would be perfect but doubt they'd sell him so keep the money and invest it in another striker. I wouldn't be too sad to see Meireles go.

His value will never be higher than it is at the moment and with all Kenny's new signings I can't see him being a regular.

I'd sell for around 12m.

No club will pay that type of money for him + they already know we want to sell which doesn't help.
