although he's probably a squad player for us now why should we sell him? do we need to sell him? If we want to break back into the top 4 & stay there we need a strong squad - he's a good player and someone we shouldn't be moving on unless we either need to or he is desperate to go - at the moment it seems neither of these are the case at the moment.

Does he want to stay? Presumably he'll want to play at the Euros in the summer, that may be difficult if he isn't playing regularly here. Which I can't see! Not that I think he'd be a regular at Chelsea either.

We finally have deep bench and given that his playing opportunities, bar some serious injuries, will be limited I'd rather sell now when his stock is very high and use the money to get what we are in short supply like good quality CB or a striker instead.

I just cannot see him playing much this year.

Most of us are still puzzled but still early days so we may be pleasantly surprised as the season is progressing.

He's one for the future but perhaps we jumped the gun too soon.

Time will tell.

We bid for Jones after Henderson had been signed, so I don't think Henderson has impacted on our desire the bring a centre back in. Gerrard can score & break teams down no (obviously when he is back fit)?

In 3 months I think our play will be all about ball rentention and playing more one touch stuff, integral to this is Henderson, he's so good in tight positions. He is much more suited to this style than some others on our books.

I think wages / wage bill is more the reason stopping our recruitment drive not the 16M on Henderson.
