If the theory is that Meireles is only a sub, so we can let him go - what would be the point of getting Sturridge in? Is he going to dislodge Suarez or Carroll?

No but he'll give you options in the area we need straightening and will be able to hold value much better than Raul.

Not bothered about holding value, Meireles is a quality player and must stay.

I'd even reluctantly let Cole go before i would Raul

i was beginning to think you'd have Suarez out the door before Joe.

Sturridge could be a very useful option (young, hungry, aggressive, pacey, skilled etc.) and has the potential to be a very good player and I'd swap him for Raul gladly.

Gotta be joking, thought he'd already gone to QPR...

If Aquilani is on his way and Cole isn't going to even show the faintest glimpse of form then we'd be silly to let Raul go.

                That said I'd take Sturridge.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I like Sturridge - i still dont think we should sell Raul though.

If Aquilani is on the way out and it seems he is, I'd keep him too as we need options in the midfield especially as Stevie could be out for who knows how long but I don't see any other way to entice Chavs to consider Sturridge swap.

                    Not to us at least.

I dont think they'll let us have Sturridge regardless.

No but if a Centre midfielder gets injured, say when Gerrard is back, we have plenty of cover. If Carroll or Suarez get injured, we have Kuyt or N'gog. Sturridge would be a very good back-up plan to have. He has potential sell-on value and is a very talented young player.

Sturridge would be 3rd choice up front. That's worth a lot of games.

Meireles has no chance of getting a look in his natural position.

i would take sturridge plus 3m for meireles. sturridge wont play at chelsea with 3 strikers already ahead of him whereas at liverpool he'd be first sub striker with plenty of chances to play.

would work well with carroll and our pass and move style of play. if we manage to sell ngog, aquilani, cole and co then it might bring in enough for cahill and foe me henderson, adam, downing, enrique, doni, sturridge and cahill is a fantastic bit or recruiting.

Same as how you 100% insisted Lucas wouldnt get in the team this season?
