Sturridge could be a very useful option (young, hungry, aggressive, pacey, skilled etc.) and has the potential to be a very good player and I'd swap him for Raul gladly.

Raul offers us a different type of set up to the Suarez/Carroll partnership - he has shown himself to be a very clever player and links up well with whoever it seems to be he's playing with.

Perhaps he was little more vocal then he should have been but every player wants to play and I don't see a problem if a player approaches a manager and asks for more playing time or at least to know if he is a part of his plans or not.

He wanted to prove himself and he gladly took the opportunity to go to Bolton and showed very quickly that he has the talent and potential to do well in this league.

I agree with JohnDoe that Raul's opportunities to play regularly will be very limited and if getting Sturridge means swapping Raul I'd do it cause imo Sturridge would help us more as we are very lean upfront and we need an extra striker.

I agree with JohnDoe that Raul's opportunities to play regularly will be very limited and if getting Sturridge means swapping Raul I'd do it cause imo Sturridge would help us more as we are very lean upfront and we need an extra striker.

If we were getting rid of wash and bringing in someone like Sturridge I could understand it but someone like Merieles offers a bit of craft and guile which we need in the side - it's a squad game now and we need to keep our better players and it certainly looks like Aqualani is off so we certainly shouldn't be looking to move him on.

You'd also imagine there is a reason as to why Chelsea are interested (or not as probably paper talk anyway!)

Cant see why Yossi would be any more keen to sit on our bench as opposed to Chelsea's so hopefully its bull****.
