Then tell them, in the last couple of hours of the transfer window, that discussions with Yossi have fallen through and the deal is off.

Meireles will be sorely tempted by this deal - if Chelsea have come in at £8m plus Yossi then I revise my deal to £12m plus him. Take the £12m plus the N'gog money and reinvest in another forward in January or next year. Meireles in our current squad isn't going to make or break our season IMO.

I'd try and force through Sturridge as part of the deal instead though.

Meireles' genuine value is about £15m and Yossi's is about £5m.

Why let Raul go for his actual value? If they get him, they must pay vastly over the odds. Otherwise, no deal.

We upgraded last summer and now Boas wants to do the same. It'd be a really smart move from us wouldn't it
