had a purple patch in mid season, in a team not playing to good, at a club just trying to emerge from a really bad place, and spent most of that first half of the season playing with a negative manager lacking in confidence, so not sure how good he really is tbh

In this new era, with our signings, he would surely be a squad player at best, as indicated in an above post.

I feel he will be in a similar position at the chavs.

We do also have the option of tucking Henderson inside and playing Kuyt or Bellamy wide right. Maxi could also take that central role on. Hopefully we have enough options to see us through to the summer when I anticipate we'll be able to spend more on a replacement, which will turn out better in the long run. A risk just about worth taking, I think.

I think that 12 million will go back into the squad sooner or later, quite possibly on a younger better player too. We'll manage without Europe.
