Players of his ilk tend to be overrated because the lack of technique and passing ability are often overlooked on a defensive midfielder. See what happened to Mashcerano at Barca and why he couldn't beat Busquets for his position, they were the team to get it right.

I think he works in Citeh's system though, he is there to break up play for them whereas either Barry or Yaya Toure will take up on the footballing side of things, I partially agree though, i'd imagine if he played for another team as a lone defensive midfielder he would get caught out a lot more.

I don't think there is a place in a top team for a midfielder who is a non factor when the team has the ball. It's a major liability, especially against inferior sides which allow you to have most of the possession.
