Also why is Ferguson always asked to explain his comments as far as I recall most other managers are just charged straight off.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Misconduct charge for Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson over media comments

The FA has today [Tuesday 29 January] charged Sir Alex Ferguson in relation to post-match media comments made following Manchester United’s game at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 20 January 2013.

It is alleged the Manchester United manager breached FA Rule E3 in that he implied that the match official was motivated by bias.

Ferguson has until 4pm on Friday 1 February 2013 to respond to the charge.

All it proves is that the pro-Man Utd conspiracy is even more complex than we thought.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

              FERGIE'S FURY AT JONES SNUB

1st February 2013 By Jeremy Cross and David Woods EXCLUSIVE

MANCHESTER UNITED and Sir Alex Ferguson are seething at England boss Roy Hodgson for demoting Phil Jones to the Under-21s.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unhappy that a player with five full caps to his name is being asked to prove his worth with the youngsters.

Jones, 20, was yesterday drafted into Stuart Pearce’s Under-21 squad for the friendly against Sweden at Walsall on Tuesday.

Fergie, who yesterday accepted an undisclosed FA fine for his attack on linesman Simon Beck, is unhappy at seeing a player who has started in his team’s last four matches being sent back down the ranks.

Pearce wanted Jones, who has been tipped as a future England captain, to add extra experience to the Under-21s, who are building up for their Euro 2013 Finals campaign in Israel, which kicks off in June.

Hodgson has singled out another youngster, 21-year-old Jack Wilshere, as a key man for the future.

The Arsenal star has been his club’s best performer since returning in October from 14 months out with an ankle injury.

He played the last 28 minutes of the 4-2 friendly defeat in Sweden, but Hodgson made no secret of the importance of the midfielder for England.

Naming Wilshere in his 24-man squad for the glamour friendly with Brazil at Wembley on Wednesday, Hodgson said: “We gave him a chance against Sweden, maybe earlier than Arsene Wenger and I would have liked. Jack took to it like a duck to water.

“He is getting better and better and has proved his worth. It is not right to compare him with other youngster like Wilfried Zaha, Raheem Sterling, Jonjo Shelvey etc (all picked for the Under-21s).

“You have to give Wilshere the credit that he has established himself as a first-team player.” Hodgson did not rule out playing Wilshere’s Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott as a central striker.

“Any player who can do the job for Arsenal in the Premier League and succeed in a certain position can do it for his national team,” he said.

Another surprise was the omission of holding midfielders Scott Parker of Tottenham and Manchester City’s Gareth Barry.

Barry, 31, looks to have little future at international level as he has not featured for his country this season, despite making 26 appearances for the champions.

Parker, 32, is working his way back to full fitness after an Achilles injury.

Hodgson has kept faith with Chelsea’s Frank Lampard, 34, and Leon Osman, 31, of Everton, who was a surprise debutant against Sweden.

Agreeing Lampard, who is on 93 caps, could make it to 100, Hodgson praised the midfielder’s Chelsea team-mate Ashley Cole, who becomes only England’s seventh centurion on Wednesday.

“Reaching 100 matches is an incredible milestone,” added Hodgson. “He deserves a pat on the back.

That went under the radar didn't it?

Was it just a case of Gill telling him the money would be deducted by Utd payroll from his next payslip, seen as though Utd and FA are one in the same

And if Roy *had* picked Jones, he'd have picked up an injury and made to return to Manchester anyway.

Anyhoo, I can't really take any sides on this story - it involves three people who boil my piss.

That line about him being fined must've been bollocks - I thought it seemed strange.
