The fact that my Dad (who is a fair minded man of 79, has very little interest in football and none in LFC) still manages to find time to despise the whisky slurper, is a constant source of pride to me.

      My mum can't stand him.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I think the BBC should now snub him and not bother trying to interview him.

Unfortuantely it won't happen, but it would be funny if it did
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nah, I think they should start working through the backlog of questions. I'm sure he would love being queried about the referees performance in games 5 years ago or the purchase of Hargreaves, etc..

True to form, surprised it took him two games:

Sir Alex Ferguson has accused the Football Association of treating Manchester United unfairly.

The United manager, hit with a five-match touchline ban last season, made the claims while talking about having up to eight players on England duty.

Ferguson, 69, said: "The FA may realise who has produced more players for their country than any club in the world.

"Maybe they will realise how important we are to England instead of treating us like s***."

In March, Ferguson was given a five-match touchline ban and £30,000 fine by the FA for criticising referee Martin Atkinson. He initially received a three-game ban for the remarks and saw a two-game suspended ban he had previously earned for saying referee Alan Wiley was not "fit enough" to keep up with play activated.

The following month, United striker Wayne Rooney was banned for two matches for swearing into a TV camera.

Those bans led to Manchester United chief executive David Gill claiming in June the FA had singled out the club for "harsh" punishments.

"There were some poor-ish decisions that wouldn't have necessarily hit others - the actual punishments were harsh," said FA board member Gill.

"That's not to say I'm condoning Wayne's comments, because I don't think they were correct, or what Sir Alex said, because it wasn't helpful.

"We're possibly being caught up in being one of the biggest clubs and the [FA's] Respect agenda being there.

"What better way to demonstrate the authorities are being tough than by hitting one of the biggest clubs the hardest?"

Ferguson's comments came as he spoke about the number of his players who could be called up by England this weekend.

Manager Fabio Capello is due to name his squad for next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales on Sunday evening, and United could have as many as eight representatives.

Ferguson is delighted with that but took the opportunity to criticise the FA over the punishments handed out to the club last season.

"It's not a problem, it's fantastic," he added. "Maybe they will realise how important we are to England.

"I am pleased for the players. They are outstanding."

The FA has declined to comment on Ferguson's accusation.

He needs to start taking the rough with the smooth. The amount of decisions they get on the pitch more than compensates for any action taken by the FA to punish their lack of discipline.

p.s. Is he taking credit for England being ****e too? After all, no-one has contributed more to that team than Utd.

What a ****ing scumbag. Don't want a ban/fine then don't break the rules. It'd be a disgrace if he doesn't get a ban/fine for these comments too.

Gill should be sacked by FA for claiming United were singled out and the same wouldn't have happened to other clubs. Quite strange/unfair that any club's chief exec can be a FA board member too.

Pathetic how the only reason he's stopped the BBC ban is so he can slag off the FA - allowing more coverage.

                            Up yours, BBC tells Ferguson
                            26-08-11

MATCH of the Day producers have welcomed the opportunity to completely ignore Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 70 year-old Manchester United manager has ended his seven year dummy spit with the BBC, which began after they produced a documentary untainted by business or political influence, in keeping with Ferguson's unshakeable left-wing beliefs.

The documentary suggested that Ferguson's son may not have been the living incarnation of Zeus and that football agents were possibly not the Platonic ideal of probity and honesty.

This made the never-ending fountain of radge ban any mention of the BBC at Old Trafford and led to the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese striker hinted he was a big fan of Cash in The Attic.

Producer Tom Logan said: "We'll approach him after the Arsenal match and then, as he's getting into why the whole world's against him - which usually takes about four seconds - the interviewer will just walk away. At which point Ferguson's head should explode in a pink mist of fury.

"It's important we do this as I think that, while the BBC has many faults, kowtowing to the capricious whims of a jumped-up PE teacher shouldn't be one of them."

The technical team at MOTD will also join in by removing Ferguson from footage of United games and replacing his image with a photo of Jose Mourinho to ensure maximum Glaswegian profanity.

Logan added: "As a parent I know the value of ignoring a tantrum, even a seven-year-long one, and if it means having to endure Ferguson drumming his fists on the floor and deliberately ****ting himself during Sports Personality of the Year to make our point, I think it will be worth it."
