Saw him on Jonathon Ross over weekend telling some tale about a fan giving him stick at a West Ham friendly to the point he claimed he told him if he thought he could do better get on the pitch. Apparantly he gave the guy a set of boots and he played the second half and scored.

What a load of bull that is and if id did happen which is doubtful how unprofessional is that

I thought it was a certainty in all honesty. I'd be a liar if I sat here and said anything else. Even Roy thought I was a certainty. All the word coming back from the League Managers' Association and everybody else was that 'Roy knows you're going to get the job, there's only you and Roy'. I was 10-1, Roy was 8-1, but it didn't happen and that's life and I didn't lose any sleep over it. I think maybe Roy was more suited to the job than I was. Maybe he was more suited in going to St George's Park and spending more time with the FA. I always think he is perhaps more organised than me in that respect. He's a top-class manager without a doubt. I thought he would spend more time in the office than I would, I'd have hated that. Going up to Soho or wherever the offices are, going to St George's Park wasn't for me. I could have managed England but I couldn't sit in an office and say I'd win a tournament.

In other words I dont think Redknapp could be arsed to actually do the job. Just get paid for it and sit around at home.

Had to laugh at the latest reason as to why he left QPR.

Was not so long ago that he came out and said that he had chronic problems with his knees and he left the job for health reasons.

Now 'Arry is out trying to pass off another true version of what happened.

Harry Redknapp has revealed that his departure from QPR was because people with "agendas" wanted him gone.

The former Tottenham boss resigned his post at the start of the February with the club 19th in the Premier League and the 68-year-old initially cited chronic knee injuries for his sudden exit.

However, Redknapp has now stated that the constant rumours surrounding his position at Loftus Road led him to believe that not everyone at the club was fully behind him.

"I always thought I had everyone pulling with me and suddenly I felt some were and some weren't. Behind the scenes, I always thought there were one or two people with their own agendas," he told BBC Sport.

"There was talk about Tim Sherwood coming in. QPR was in the paper every day. I've been at lots of other clubs, big clubs as well where you didn't get that.

"That got on my nerves. That was the big problem for me. As soon as we lost a few games it would begin. I always thought there was someone mischievous causing it. I'd never had that before at any club.

"All the years I have managed, seven years at West Ham, 10 years nearly at Bournemouth, Tottenham for four years. No one ever said I was going to get the sack by Sunday.

"The chairman Tony Fernandes always said there was never anything in it and it was always denied, but I thought it was always very disrespectful.

"I didn't see the teams below us getting the same sort of headlines every other week. It wore me down a little bit."

Chris Ramsey was subsequently installed as manager until the end of the season and QPR are two points adrift of safety with six matches remaining.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is in talks to become director of football at Championship side Derby County, BBC Radio Derby reports.

The Rams sacked head coach Paul Clement last month and appointed Darren Wassall as boss until the end of the season.

But they have lost four of Wassall's seven games in charge and have turned to Redknapp to help out.

The 69-year-old ex-West Ham, Portsmouth and Southampton boss has been out of work since leaving QPR in January 2015.
