I honestly don't think we will pick him over Skrtel just yet, I think we will first see him Brighton away.

Voronin has got himself a decent sleeve, that I don't think he had when he was with us(?), based on that, and after losing Raul we should bring him back to keep the tattoo revolution going
The times they are a changin'.

I feel that once he's picked, for whatever reason, he'll be difficult to drop. You don't become a starting defender for a national team full of bat**** mental ****ers like Uruguay without being ace.

It's tough to say. I think Kenny will slowly bring him in but I personally don't expect to see him play too many games this year.

That said, I made the same prediction that the match against Brighton will be his first start.

            Absolutely.

It ought to be a good game for his debut.

I have a feeling we'll see him a lot sooner than people think. In fact him alongside Agger at Stoke is my prediction, maybe as a sub, but he'll be blooded very soon imo. Just to keep up pressure on first team places.

Ukraine vs Uruguay Ukraine found the net 15 seconds into the contest thanks to Andriy Voronin but could not hold off Uruguay as goals by Alvaro Gonzalez, Diego Lugano and Abel Hernandez saw the Copa America winners earn a 3-2 victory at Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv.

Hernandez, who came on in the second half, found the net in the 87th minute off of a wonderful through pass from Luis Suarez, taking a touch past Olexandr Shovkovskiy before knocking the ball home with ease, earning another victory for Oscar Tabarez's side.

Yevhen Konoplyanka helped the Euro 2012 co-hosts get the early lead when he stole the ball from Uruguay in the middle of the pitch, finding Marko Devic, who was darting towards the box. The striker marched forward before slipping a low pass in front of the net to Voronin, who placed his shot with class to the right of a diving Fernando Muslera, sending the fans into a frenzy before many even took their seats.

The hosts looked to play the ball towards the touchline, opening up space in the middle to go on the attack. It was successful time after time as the boys in yellow engineered several spurts of brilliance to infiltrate the Uruguayan penalty area, keeping them on their heels. However, they could not find their second goal before Gonzalez's strike.

The Lazio man leveled the score a just before the break with a shot from 20 meters that Shovkovskiy should have handled without any problems. However, the ball hit off his arm and bounced into the net.

Yarmolenko sent in a low cross into the middle of the box between numerous players from both teams, finding Voronin, who only needed one touch on the ball with the inside of his magnificent pony tail to knock it off the crossbar and down into the goal, leaving Muslera with no chance of stopping it.

But Lugano would have nothing of it, bringing his nation back early in the second half off a set piece, flicking on Luis Suarez's free-kick with a soft touch to the back post before Hernandez left it late as the South Americans picked up where they left off their triumphant 2011 Copa America campaign.

Probably not the time and place for this one, but eventually things are going to come to a head, and Kenny is the man who's gonna deal with it.

How do people think Carra is going to react to being left out ? (assuming of course, that he would be the one to miss out, ignoring the fact that Kenny might want to partner Coates with Carra initially to bed him in)
We heard before that Carra would rather move than not be in the First XI (granted a few seasons back) so keeping something like that in mind (as well as his obvious fav son status)........could he become a serious distraction in the dressing room ?, or would he gracefully accept that things like this are inevitable ?

I think he'll realise that there is better raw talent that'll need his coaching off the pitch at some stage. Hence him going for his coaching badges. I don't see a problem at all. In fact I bet it's been discussed already.

I don't see it as a problem either. He's smart to know that his phasing out process will start sooner rather than later and there isn't anything he can do about it.

That said, imo he will play lot of games this year as "Luganito" will need some time to adjust and Agger..well you know the rest..

Looking from the outside, thats the way I hope it would be as well, and with any luck, thats what will happen, But I guess its more of a personal thing that only someone close to Carra would be able to answer definitively. For there to be no personal resentment as he is placed on the bench as a new back line is sent out would be very, very strange indeed, certainly considering Carra's desire to play every single game.
He's football smart enough to know that all things end of course, but there must be some small part that would be in the background, but I agree with what Kronenburg says in that there probably has been some discussion around what his role will entail next season (especially if we bring in another defender next summer).

Coates is too tall to even sit on the bench?
