Of course, if every decison BR makes is correct, then there is no need.

If the manager doesn't think the player is going to be good enough then giving him a loan elsewhere doesn't make sense to him. Why not send me on loan somewhere?Originally posted by Vermilion View PostManagers make mistakes and misjudgements though, it's why a dof is imo handy to have, to maybe suggest a loan when a manager says sell, stuff like that, someone to give a different perspective, and who wont agree with the manager for agreeings sake, or to keep his place in the backroom 'team'.

The manager is the one who has to decide on the quality of the player.
Of course he can be wrong. You can reasonably argue he is on this occasion, but come on - let's not presume it's down to a lack of common sense rather than a difference of opinion on the player's quality and suitability for the team going forward.Like blood on iron

Exactly Polio.
Vermilion, I know Rodgers might be wrong. Of course I do. I can't see how that invalidates a word of what I said..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

For all we know, BR may prefer to send him on loan, our owners are not handing over bucket loads of cash, therefore if he feels he needs to add strength to other parts of the team then he needs to raise the money from somewhere, ie player sales. Not everything is black and white, we have to trust what BR is doing is for the best of LFC, because none of us have a clue what the reasons are behind every decision he makes.

time will tell if letting Coates go was a good or bad decision (if he goes that is)

a good manager must keep his options open.
selling coates would be foolish as he has all the attributes to make it, he just needs some game time and a little more awareness. this will come from a loan spell. i reckon he could come back a much better player and prove his worth in twelve months time.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I'd have no problem with a loan spell, infact i think it is a better option. but sure we have to trust that Rogers will make the right decision whatever happens. Hopefully he doesOriginally posted by baitman View Posta good manager must keep his options open.

we have no choice, its not like we could start a poll and the results will influence rodgers decision... unfortunatelyOriginally posted by danperkins View PostI'd have no problem with a loan spell, infact i think it is a better option. but sure we have to trust that Rogers will make the right decision whatever happens. he wouldnt be the first manager to get it wrong
