I agree about Koeman but remember this was what he was up against after spending some money. He was fighting a losing battle with the delusions of grandeur.

Also Watford have reported Everton for tapping up Silva.

The most realistic out of them all said he would be ok with the following

Bertrand

I’ve a few Everton fans as mates also, their delusion knows no bounds and they have no foundation to base their mad ideas on. We know ‘they are chosen’......never a truer word spoken.

Won 30% of his games with Watford and 36% with Hull.

27 points from 22 games with Hull
29 points from 26 games with Watford.

Took Hull down and was on the way to doing the same with Watford.

Also people seem to think that until he had his head turned by Everton (LOL) his record at Watford was brilliant. It went down hill after they made it obvious he was their number 1 choice.

If you extrapolate his Hull season over 38 games it works out as 46 points. So yes that would have kept them up. Would Fat Sam have done any worse though?

His Watford season extrapolates to 42 points by the way.

So it's fair to summarise he should keep you up.

The fact he stayed at both for under a season though should surely be another concern? Say he starts well at Everton what's to stop his head being turned by a better team in the Spring?

It just seems a baffling appointment for me. I think he's somehow become a fashionable coach, with very little of substance to back it up.

It's an odd one, as much as I dislike Big Sam, I don't really see what he did wrong. 7th is the best finish that they could realistically expect and given that they were in the **** when he took over, getting them to finish 8th is fairly good. If it's about the football that they play what did they expect? Big Sam has been around long enough for all of them to know his style of play...

But he finished in a **** 8th position.

If 5th place (somehow) got 45 points and we qualified for the CL with 47 then clearly we've lost a lot of points and that wouldn't be good enough.
