Seriously though, I just think Martinez is terrible nad has managed to coach defensive ineptitude into them. They were never that hot going forward but now they can't defend

Last year they had Moyes defensive discipline combined with Martinez's attacking coaching. Looks like the defensive discipline instilled by Moyes is now wearing out.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.
I do remember not so long back that people were criticising FSG for getting the wrong ex Swansea manager. Those people are pretty quiet right about now. But I will cut Martinez some slack.
I think their sufferings are down to what ours were. A failure to cope with European football. Rotation of the squad is essential but if you can't get it right it's disastrous.
You watch them in Europe and they still look a very good team. But the motivation for the league games wasn't there. And once that motivation has been lost, it's very difficult to get back.
Martinez has to do what Rodgers did & reinvent a way of playing if he wants them to sort themselves out. I doubt they'll go down, but if they have a tough run, and bad results would knock confidence even further.
But just as our players went within themselves it's the same at Everton. I almost think they'd be best off getting top dollar for players whilst they still can and bringing fresh blood into the squad.
I was delighted FSG picked Rodgers over Martinez. I was gutted when the photograph of Henry and Martinez strolling down Miami with coffees in hand was published.
