Middlesbourgh got a points deduction for failing to fulfil a fixture in 96-97, they got relegated and if it weren't for the points deduction I'm fairly sure they would have stayed up.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Looking at the table it looks possible that both Everton and Leeds finish on the same number of points as well as goal difference with one being relegated and one staying up. If its the same number of points and goal difference how is it determined which one stays up?"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Goals scored first, then head to head.Originally posted by jono View PostLooking at the table it looks possible that both Everton and Leeds finish on the same number of points as well as goal difference with one being relegated and one staying up. From the Premier League website:
"If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored, then the team who collected the most points in the head-to-head matches, then who scored most away goals in the head-to-head"

The point won 10 minutes into injury time could be massive. Leeds are ****ing crap and can't be relied upon. I thought Forest were certain to go down so I'm not exactly in the running to replace Nostradamus, but I just can't imagine the Bitters not being able to fluke their way out of another jam.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostNot so sure to be honest. Leeds win at west ham tomorrow and i think they are ****ed.

Ha ha know what you mean but i think if Sam was offered needing a win away at west ham who had just played a European away game on the Thursday night and at home to a Spurs side that have long ago checked out, then i think he'd have snapped yer hand off.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostThe point won 10 minutes into injury time could be massive. They should have beaten Newcastle though. That bamford missed peno was huge and in reality leeds should need one win from their final 2 games.
Truth is that about 5 teams should be relegated this year
