Middlesbourgh got a points deduction for failing to fulfil a fixture in 96-97, they got relegated and if it weren't for the points deduction I'm fairly sure they would have stayed up.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Looking at the table it looks possible that both Everton and Leeds finish on the same number of points as well as goal difference with one being relegated and one staying up. If its the same number of points and goal difference how is it determined which one stays up?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

Goals scored first, then head to head.

        From the Premier League website:

"If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored, then the team who collected the most points in the head-to-head matches, then who scored most away goals in the head-to-head"

Which would mean Everton going down

They celebrated the equaliser today as if it was the winning goal of a CL final.

Hope leeds beat west ham tomorrow. If they do then I reckon Everton are toast

I can see them surviving on 33 points. I'd put money on us being relegated before them.

Both will probably win on the final day (Ev vs BMouth - Leeds vs Tottenham) so Leeds need to leapfrog them tomorrow

Come on you Big Fat Head

The point won 10 minutes into injury time could be massive. Leeds are ****ing crap and can't be relied upon. I thought Forest were certain to go down so I'm not exactly in the running to replace Nostradamus, but I just can't imagine the Bitters not being able to fluke their way out of another jam.

Ha ha know what you mean but i think if Sam was offered needing a win away at west ham who had just played a European away game on the Thursday night and at home to a Spurs side that have long ago checked out, then i think he'd have snapped yer hand off.

They should have beaten Newcastle though. That bamford missed peno was huge and in reality leeds should need one win from their final 2 games.

Truth is that about 5 teams should be relegated this year

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Surely Leicester are ****ed. Although how sweet would it be to see both Everton and Leeds go down ha ha

Would love a leeds win today though. The fume amongst these bitter cunts if both Sam and Moyes ****ed them would be beautiful.

A lot of them seem to think that they are guaranteed to beat Bournemouth next week too

bottom 3 are doomed, cannot see them getting more than one point a piece from last 2 games.

No doubt the prem league charges will be delayed/announced 1 day in to next season, so any points deduction will be next season & they will survive again........
