Midfielder Adam was left out of the Reds' squad for Thursday's Europa League decider against Hearts and has been given permission to speak to the trio of potential buyers.
Stoke have already agreed personal terms with Adam and are willing to pay £4million for him - provided they can raise funds via the sale of striker Kenwyne Jones.
After speaking to Potters boss Tony Pulis, Adam is willing to make the move despite Stoke's style of play being so different to his own.
The Scot has also been in talks with Everton and Fulham, but those clubs are hoping his asking price falls as Liverpool try to move him on before the window shuts.
