it was a very poor game by our standards (or at least what we think our standards should be) but in our midfield adam stood out. henderson had a mare, jay was just as bad and shelvey was too reliant on others. IMO he dictated our game and played well. not great and hes not ever going to be great but he is a decent option.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Maybe its just me, but I thought for the first 70 minutes he was our best player, but then ....then he dropped of dramatically ... nearly cost us 2 goals because he was just trotting about like it was a Sunday game with his pub matersAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Henderson was anonymous as well. Did nothing bar one excellent pass to Borini which should have resulted in a goal. He should take those opportunities to cement a place in the side as he's a good player but I think he lacks character. Can't really tell actually, it's quite baffling. Are we winning?

I like Henderson. He's technically a good player, with a good engine and a decent football brain.
Just hides a bit too much and doesn't get involved enough for me. If he can sort that out then he'll be a very good player.

I think that is a bit harsh but he's certainly not good enough to be the play maker for a team looking to compete for the CL and is the antithesis of a Rodgers player.Originally posted by wiw View PostFor every raking 40 yarder to someone's toe there's a ballooned pass that goes out. He did a couple of good things, but was mostly very wasteful. Most importantly he just doesn't seem suited to the style of play Rodgers is aiming for. To get the most out of him, he needs to have zero defensive responsibilities, but he doesn't bring enough positives to be allowed that luxury. He'd suit a team playing 451 where he's got two other CMs to cover.
Plus his gap toothed-ness annoys me.

For me it was the overall phrase 'Championship standard Alonso'. I think he is better than Championship standard. I also think Alonso is one of those players who is so stylish in what he does that it the comparison makes the former sound more damning to me (although I can see others taking it the other way now I read it again). I don't think he is an Alonso style controlling playmaker either - he's much more of an impact player - if you compare direct assists I would imagine Adam is much more productive.Originally posted by wiw View PostThat we can agree on
