Indeed. He didn't even suggest she needed comforting, just that he took it on himself to intervene. The guy's a dick, always has been and probably always will be, and to assume that he didn't commit sexual assault because he's Gazza (as lots of people seem to be doing (not here)) is pretty weird. Time will tell whether he is guilty as charged, but calling her names, even conditionally, is innapropriate.

Perhaps restorative justice as has been thoughtfully applied by Gareth Thomas would be a solution? But if the girl is looking for money then that throws a different slant on things.
