Don't see the fuss. Out of some of the players on that list, Rooney is well deserving of being nominated compared to them. He is easily in the top 20 players in the world & has been every year for a while now. He may be a cunt but he's an exceptional talented one.

Just looking at some of them other names though.

Abidal - He hasn't been anywhere near his old form, or one of the best full backs about. I get the man was ill and I'm glad he's better but this a sympathy vote.

Bemzema - In & out of Real team. Higuian playing better for large parts of the year.

Etoo - Inter had a poor season & he retired on healthy benifits in the summer. Tbh I don't know how he played with Inter last year, so he may be deserving but I doubt it somehow.

Fabregas - Spent most of last season injured, has started well this one

Forlan - Is this list really based on what they've done the last year in football?

Neymar - **** off. There'll be players from league 2 getting nominated next

No Cavani or Di Natali either.
