Obviously Silva, but they play different positions? It's impressive how Modric manages to play in a 2

I think Silva is better in the position behind the strikers, but its definetely impressive how Modric can be nearly as good while basically holding the spurs midfield together.

Leads me to the whole argument abount having better players around you... Silva having Toure, De Jong etc in midfield makes things easier.

      Silva is still better.

        Silva.

My telly has been doing that thing Craig is on about for a while on footy. Thought was just us. Anyone else have longer term problems? Was doing it for the Chav match too.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Manager Redknapp said: "The title is a possibility, it's not impossible. If you keep winning matches and believe in yourself you will do it."

I work with 3 Spurs fans and am sick to death of the amount of sh1t they are coming out with. "See the same last night? It was like watching Barcelona" etc, etc. The sooner they get some serious injuries and Redknapp gets sent down, the better.

They have a really good team. Better than us, Chelsea and Arsenal. They should comfortably finish in the top 4 this season.

+ they totally smashed us. that was worst game since kenny's in charge (since this year), IMO.

I was at it in the Spurs end unfortunately. Agger injured in the build up to their first goal didn't help. Horrendous performance.

Sorry if this has been mentioned but didn't we have the opposite problem once? IIRC assuming I remember right the ball was tapped at the corner flag, someone else jogged over and then ran with the ball towards the penalty area at which point the ref, who hadn't noticed the initial play of the ball by the first player, wrongly stopped play and ordered it retaken.

If so then it seems even more bizarre for Martinez to single out Anfield, i.e. us, unless there was a big furore about it that led to a change of policy by referees that professional clubs are aware of but that we punters haven't noticed.

The only other explanation I can think of is he refers to us because he's scared of upsetting the LMA by mentioning the most obvious beneficiary of favourable, incorrect decisions but that way madness lies.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That happened to Man Utd in the last couple of years, IIRC Rooney rolled the ball out to Giggs(?) who ran in to cross for someone to score from a header, which the referee disallowed. That's the most obvious example, I can't remember us doing it.

The other thing is, what do you do if you're the defending team and think this is happening? Obviously if the attacking team are caught out they are going to claim they weren't trying to work this one and were genuinely changing corner takers, but if the defender has booted the ball up field they would likely get a yellow card...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep the linesman disallowed it, Teddy Sheringham was on Goals on Sunday and mentioned that one then they showed it, Ronaldo put it in at the near post

He also said that you needed to make the linesman aware of what you are doing and then they should allow it

I cant remember anything like that at Anfield

Dont agree with that, we've got 5 more points than them since Kenny has been here, they do have a stable team thats been built over a few years though which is good for them and an advantage over us, aswell as some really good players so will be a tough battle to finish above them.

That's an odd one though because if that's true it means you can only do it on one side of the pitch
