Strange, I know the practice that I work for has produced a detailed scheme for a site in Earls Court & the Chavs have practically bought all the land they need - apart from a few CPO's that are going through the system

    Smokescreen....
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Battersea would be an awesome site for their stadium. Gutted, seeing how we should have nearly finished work on ours by now.

I'm a bit of stadium geek tbh, so was being a little cheeky.

            Are you an architect?
            Oh I don't know.

Bet it doesn't take them long once they decide on and secure an appropriate site though.

I dunno, this sounds like theres a million problems, even Chelsea's statement isnt that optimistic.

How come? I'd love to have been an architect. Couldn't commit to the academic side though. Not a great fan of maths.

I can't imagine how Battersea Power Station could ever be cost effective. If nobody has been able to make the site viable in 40 odd years, I can't see how making it fit for a football stadium could work. Sounds enormously complex. A vanity project rather than an economic one.

Then again, capital expediture does not count towards FPP, so if the Russian finances it, 100% of their other revenue could go into the team.

                      It's too far fetched.

Whenever we go into recession the construction industry is the worst hit; I've been made redundant a few times, the money is **** now & above all else you spend more time dealing with legalities, administration & paperwork than actually designing anything (the reason why I wanted to become an architect)

Plus 7 years of studying left an awful lot of debt - 30k in my case

Should have studied to be a doctor instead as my dad told me to!

That's a big shame. Hope the boom times return.

...because it's been empty for 2 decades. Apparently, so has Battersea Power Station.
