Because they suspect that Terry and Rio couldn't play together and so Rio has been sacrificed so the racist can play. Something which seems clearer now that even our back up full-back has got a place ahead of Rio.

Ofcourse the real reason is that Fergie wanted Rio to get a rest and convinced his chum Hodgson to not pick him. Hodgson ofcourse being the doormat that he is kindly obliged

I can't imagine Terry is the one who would have an issue, so ferdinand is presumably being arsey and then crying foul. If two grown men can't put something like this to one side, then the manager has to pick his preferred player. Makes sense that it's Terry.

The feud has it's origins in an allegation of racism, but the omission of rio cannot be regarded as a racial issue, unless he thinks Roy isn't picking him because he's black, or you start from the presumpption of guilt.

Just to emphasise the facts again..

In 2011 England played 9 matches. 7 prior to the Anton/Terry incident, 2 after. Rio played 1 of the 7 prior to the incident (a 2-2 draw with Switzerland) and neither of the 2 after.

In 2010 Rio played in 4 of the 13 England Matches

In 2009 Rio played in 4 of the 4 of the 11 England Matches.

9 of 31 games Are all of those non-selections because the manager forsore the awkwardness of Terry and Ferdinand playing together years before the incident?

Or is it because he is a has been?

How amusing that the chief executive of Show Racism the Red Card AKA "The Answer To A Question Nobody Asked" is called Grebby. That's exactly what he is.

"No disrespect to Martin Kelly but to leave out someone with 81 England caps who has played without injury for Manchester United since January is strange.

Oh ****ing wow. An man who missed the last major championships because he was injured, and suffered injury this season has played 5 months without injury so is clearly ready to play as many as 6 games in 3 weeks. Er, no.

I'm sure not everyone in the media is a complete idiot. Why can't someone point it out that Ferdinand has had a dreadful appearance record for years?

It's clearly to do with the Ferdinand-Terry racism thing, I don't see why Martin Kelly needs to be dragged into it.

The problem is the handling of the issue has been poor while both are available for selection the manager has a decision to make, he takes one or the other based on who he thinks is the better one to have around in terms of ability and fitness etc, as many will argue Ferdinand and Terry have been Englands best two centre backs over recent years the issue was always going to be controversial as people will have differing opinions on which player should have gone, or whether both should. Obviously Rio Ferdinand has done nothing wrong and it looks unfair that he is the one to miss out because of this incident which makes matters worse.

What was the right thing to do? I don't know, it would have helped if the trial and FA hearing had already happened in that if Terry was found guilty the matter could have been taken out of the managers hands.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Played nearly 40 times this season for Man U. I can't believe for one minute you honestly think Kelly should be going ahead of Ferdinand?

The right thing to do, would have been to **** off that Racist Prick Terry. He has enough previous to warrant him being a grade A cunt.

The trial should have been brought forward without doubt, but once again Teflon Terry gets away with it.

If there ever was a choice between them two, Rio should have gone, no question, but not my country so don't really care, but morally Rio should have gone IMO.

That doesn't mean we can just assume he is guilty, he deserves the chance of a fair hearing, and shouldn't be punished before being found guilty.

He is being dragged into it as the perception is he is not as good as Rio which implies an ulterior motive for his inclusion.

Why shouldn't he? Is it too crazy to suggest that England give a young kid experience of a major championships ahead of a 33 year old with a terrible injury record. A man who has played 1 in 4 England matches over the past 30 months? Discounting the very first day of February Ferdinand didn't play for United between the 16th of January and 6th April.

3 games in 8 days for England? 4 in 12 if they qualify for the 1/4's? Not a chance.

We're already handicapped with a striker that can't play the first 2 games so it would be pretty dumb to take an injury prone defender too.

Poland to use testicle-biting dogs, sonic cannons for riot control at 2012 Euro Cup

                            By Agence France-Presse
                            Thursday, June 7, 2012 7:24 EDT

From testicle-biting police dogs to sonic cannons capable of inducing involuntary urination, Polish anti-hooligan squads have an array of weapons ready to deal with any troublesome England fans at Euro 2012.

The English-language Krakow Post newspaper asserted in an editorial that local law enforcement agencies were more than ready to tackle any hooligan threat at England’s southern Poland base camp.

“The Polish police are going to come down on troublemakers like a bag full of anvils and you don’t want to be there when it happens,” the paper warned.

“Krakow has a long history of hooligan violence — the local police have seen it all before and they will ruin your day if you try it on.

“These lads’ mums and dads rioted under Soviet machine guns — a few chairs thrown by beered-up fans is not going to intimidate them.

“Do not expect softly, softly police tactics.

“Poland’s anti-hooligan squads are armed with: Shotguns firing baton rounds that probably won’t kill you as long as you’re 30m away, a truck-mounted water cannon affectionately known as 'the typhoon', a high-tech sonic cannon that can make you wet yourself on its lowest setting, dogs trained to bite you directly in the testicles.”

English fans are not expected to arrive in Krakow in significant numbers, with England’s Group D games all taking place in Ukraine.
