the bloke is a beast. seen him for 90 minutes twice and he has massive strength on the ball and can use either foot. reminds me of an early John Barnes when he was at Watford. Someone will end up paying big money. I'd take the gamble and pay £15m. Christ how much did Borini cost?

The inlaws are all Crystal Palace fans and season ticket holders, and they think that he's significantly better than Moses.

We will end up admiring his talents from afar as we usually do, before referring back to this thread and saying "I told you so".
I still look back at his performance at OT in the league cup. He is one hell of a talent."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

At least we are now seen as a club that gives young players a chance in the first team, and you could argue we have potentially one of the most exciting set ups around, perfect for a young player looking to establish himself as a top pro, Chelsea, City, United he would get lost in the chatter .. its between us and Arsenal .. and all is not totally well with Arsenal at the moment ... one thing is for sure ... we have the money ... and by all accounts he is worth it ... Jesus ... 56 Million on Carroll and DowningAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

I would really hope the above qualities would be enough to attract any sensible young talent.Originally posted by MrNice View PostAt least we are now seen as a club that gives young players a chance in the first team, and you could argue we have potentially one of the most exciting set ups around, perfect for a young player looking to establish himself as a top pro, Chelsea, City, United he would get lost in the chatter .. its between us and Arsenal .. and all is not totally well with Arsenal at the moment ... one thing is for sure ... we have the money ... and by all accounts he is worth it ... But, when i say sensible young talent, players choosing the things we can offer, in comparison to what Citeh Or Chavski can offer, are few and far between, especially when agents are involved.
That said, there is always the chance that this or any lad sees what we can offer as being more important to him than silly money right now with less games, so we have to try.
I do think what Norbs says is possible too, in that where we as fans see lfc going in future, may not tally with what the rest of the football world thinks about us, so there's that to consider too when we imagine these lads making their choices of who to join.

Do we have the money to compete and outbid another eager bidder though? I don't think we doOriginally posted by MrNice View PostAt least we are now seen as a club that gives young players a chance in the first team, and you could argue we have potentially one of the most exciting set ups around, perfect for a young player looking to establish himself as a top pro, Chelsea, City, United he would get lost in the chatter .. its between us and Arsenal .. and all is not totally well with Arsenal at the moment ... one thing is for sure ... we have the money ... and by all accounts he is worth it ... I think we do, on the cost of buying him anyway, he's only very young, if we really wanted him, not sure about the wages package, that would come down to morality.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostDo we have the money to compete and outbid another eager bidder though? Obviously it would hurt our transfer budget more than certain other clubs though.Last edited by Vermilion; 13-11-12, 12:32 PM.

We haven't been able to compete on Monetary terms for a while now. You would hope for a kid of that age we would offer a decent wage though.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostDo we have the money to compete and outbid another eager bidder though? I don't think we do
As Nicey said, You would hope that youngsters look us the same way they have done at Arsenal over the last few years and believe if they are good enough they will get a chance._____________________________________

Apart from the very top super rich owned sides, we can compete.Originally posted by red g View PostWe haven't been able to compete on Monetary terms for a while now. You would hope for a kid of that age we would offer a decent wage though.
