How much does that kit deal drop to if they fail to get CL football 2 years in a row?

It drops by a third, doesn't it?

"And what happened was the guy gets the ball 20-25 metres away from our box and instead of being pressed, we give him the space to progress. Nordin Amrabat receives the ball and our left-back Luke Shaw is 25 metres from him instead of five.

Mourinhos brand of **** defensive football is finished. Football is about attacking and scoring goals, defensive football is dead.

I'm not sure that such broad statements have much evidence to support them. Atletico got to the CL final playing pretty defensively a lot of the time. Arguably Real did too.

Personally I think Mourinho is not a particularly good team builder. He has always been a master refiner and sharpener of squads. The United squad clearly needed a lot of work and I don't think he has made particularly good decisions with his signings or choice of players to keep faith with.

The recovery work that van Gaal had done was with young players. Mourinho tore that up and tried to start a new team around a Rooney/Zlatan axis. It seems too slow and would only ever work with midfield dominance. His choices in that area have been very poor.

All that said he is a good manager. I think he'll turn things around to some degree. I suspect that this bad start will result in him leaving before a team is created that can challenge for things.

It's weird, because his Chelsea teams were based on a solid defence, a solid midfield, two outstanding wingers and a strong centre-forward.

Real Madrid was a modification of that, with more flair due to the players at his disposal. Inter was the same.

At Utd, he doesn't have the wingers required, and the midfield configuration is all over the place. Pogba would, IMO, work well alongside Herrera and Schneiderlin in a 3, with Rashford and Martial in some sort of wide area combination.

His continual persistence of Rooney looks to be a source of frustration among their fans.

I think I'll refrain having a dig at them until we've played them.

It won't really make a huge difference if you do?

They may well turn it round, they certainly have the players. But something seems of kilter with them, so may as well enjoy it whilst it's going badly for them? Mourning will have the, up for playing us for sure.

was that after the Burnley game?

Id imagine they learned a lot from that loss.

Yeah it was, but I still stand by what I said. The reaction of some people trying to make the thread look ridiculous after winning a game against Chelsea is reflective of where we are!

                        Somewhere in between.

We may as well enjoy this whilst it lasts! Last two games were very encouraging.

I never poke fun at other teams, it usually comes back to bite you. Obviously I hate United and want them to be ****, but we're only one point ahead of them and we have to play them soon. I can't stand Mourinho and really hope that he gets sacked this season (it'll mean that United have failed to achieve expectations again). Pogba can't be so out of his depth, surely he just needs to settle back in? I'd be made up if they've wasted all that money on ****e.
