I saw our season review for 1992/93 and 1993/94 where on Youtube. Our defending was shockingly bad, so badly organised and positioned it was terrible.

A United fan was left seeing Red when she ordered an autographed picture of striker Danny Welbeck and it turned up in a Liverpool presentation case.

Michelle Nevins paid £30 via the club’s official website for the memento for nephew Oscar Dalton’s sixth birthday. Welbeck is the United-mad youngster’s favourite player – and he even has a pet fish named after him.

But Michelle, from Didsbury , was fuming when the gift turned up in a case bearing the name of the Reds’ rivals.

Michelle, 27, said: “I used to work at Parrs Wood sixth form and Danny used to spend some time there and ever since then he’s been Oscar’s favourite player. He has posters of him but he’s not got his autograph so I thought this would be a great present for him.

“I went onto the official website and there is a section where you can ask for an autographed picture to be made out to whoever you want for whatever occasion. I asked for it to be made out to Oscar for his birthday and was told it would take seven days to get here.

“When it got here, I opened it and was looking for the certificate of authenticity when I saw that it was in a Liverpool case.

“Of all the clubs for it to be – I couldn’t believe it.

“It just made me think that they clearly don’t care about it and when I called the club they just offered a refund which wasn’t great because Oscar was coming round for it that day.

“Then my dad, who’s a City fan, started laughing and I saw the funny side. The only way it could have been worse would have been if it had come in a City case.”

Oscar, a pupil at Furness Vale Primary in High Peak, also has a puppy called Teddy Sheringham.

He said: “I love the picture but I don’t like the case.”

£30 for a signed photo. What a ripoff.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The Moyes Revolution is in full swing.

Rene Meulensteen, the Manchester United first team coach, is expected to leave the club in the next 24 hours as David Moyes continues his overhaul of the back-room staff at Old Trafford.

Meulensteen, 49, has been offered the chance to remain at United to work with their youth academy in a role similar to that which he filled for five years between 2001 and 2006 but the Dutchman is almost certain to seek a new challenge elsewhere.

United confirmed the departures of Mike Phelan and Eric Steele, the assistant manager and goalkeeping coach respectively, on Friday and now Meulensteen is set to follow in their footsteps.

Meulensteen spent a year in charge of United’s reserve team before leaving to take over as Brondby coach only to return to Old Trafford in 2007. He has been linked with the vacant manager’s post at Twente in his native Holland.

Although Meulensteen is widely respected in coaching circles, Moyes is keen to bring in his own people as he begins the task of succeeding Mr. Ferguson as manager.

Moyes is likely to bring in Chris Woods, the former England goalkeeper, and Jimmy Lumsden, a trusted coach and ally, from Everton. There are also expected to be places among the coaching team for Paul Scholes, who announced his retirement before United’s final home game of the season against Swansea City, and Nicky Butt, another former United midfielder.

Ryan Giggs has already signed a 12-month extension to continue playing for United next season but the midfielder – who is expected to complete his Uefa Pro Licence coaching badge over the next 12 months – will be given a role on Moyes’s staff at some point.

Phil Neville, the Everton captain, has been linked with the role of United No 2 under Moyes, although he is also thought to be in the running to succeed his former manager at Goodison Park. Steve Round, who worked as Moyes’ assistant at Goodison Park, is another name in the frame for the job vacated by Phelan.

Hahaha! That Meulensteen is very highly rated by United fans and they were pretty desperate for him to stay. Haha.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

You do realise that's supposed to be the nephew who received the present? Well, I hope you do anyway. Hmmmm.

Gobsmacked at that, probably the best coach at United, and was probably in the Queiroz mould of numbers 2's/backroom staff. Very highly rated coach

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
