Spending is something that we football fans like to bring up, but ultimately it doesn't matter how much you or other teams have spent, it's about how good the side are and how effective they are at getting wins and points. We might feel that we are a better side because of our attacking play where as Man Utd are boring, lucky, cheats and should be playing better given how much they have spent. Regardless of any of that they are our competitors at a similar level to us (look at the league table), if they are improving their squad that is something that we have negate the effect of by ensuring that we ourselves improve and don't let them get away from us.

They are horrible to watch and we are fantastic to watch but yet they are still 3 points ahead of us & now have added Sanchez to the ranks. Although is a mercenary cunt.. on his day he is unplayable. When you keep spending and spending and spending at some point you will get it right. I'm not saying United are there yet but they seem to spend whatever it takes and at some point it surely will pay off. I am hoping that the amount of egos there will make things implode at some point but they keep on grinding out these results.

Personally I think they would be happy with 2nd spot and a cup, then they will spend huge again in the summer.

We're paying Mignolet and Lovren the same. Lingard has been pretty good for them this season winning them points. I'd say he's worth that in our market, nevermind United's.

Take De Gea, Sanchez and Pogba out of the equation there's not a single other player that will be knocking on the manager's door asking for parity. They're all ordinary. Even Pogba isn't all that but his hype has taken off.

Their league position should begin to reflect reality soon enough. De Gea has earned them far too many points than is normal.
