Watched Sporting last night and Fernandes once again looked a brainless ball basher. He gets his numbers but I don't see much special in him. Special shout to VAR too for ruining the celebrations in a local derby and taking 4 minutes to confirm the Benfica goal which needed about 3 seconds to see it was clearly onside.

Don't want to pay what SL are looking for apparently (€80m).

Trouble is they've overpaid so many times in the past, selling clubs know they're a soft touch and SL will no doubt just wait for them to cave.

He has put up staggering numbers that last 2 seasons at Sporting but you wonder if that is a reflection on the quality in Portugal. Having said that he also scores regularly in Europe but again it’s the Europa so I guess that’s United’s level.

He needs to play in a midfield 3 to get the best from him - off the right cutting in as he likes to shoot (a lot ). United’s current formation wouldn’t get the best from him but they seem to have no plan anyway - just throwing money at people.

In this market he is a £50m player at most but certainly not the money Sporting are asking for. United are desperate and are pissing money like a drunken sailor - I bet they’ll pay around £65m for him. It doesn’t matter who they buy because Ole is at the wheel and will make them worse

I’d have liked him in our squad but for around half of what they are asking for.
