Ramsay is beyond the second last defender so if the defender has to take action to avoid Ramsay and cannot run in a straight line because of where he is stood then he is clearly active in play. Ramsay's position forced the defender to navigate him. If he is active and beyond the last defender then he's offside.Football without Origi is nothing

There was much head scratching in the after match analysis.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostRamsay is beyond the second last defender so if the defender has to take action to avoid Ramsay and cannot run in a straight line because of where he is stood then he is clearly active in play. Linekar read out the rule, something like; if the attacker is in an offside position and then obstructs a defender (cavani) then he is interfering with play, providing the defender is in a position to get to the ball.
Cavani being allowed to pass would have had no impact on the outcome of any play as he was no where near the ball and on the far side of several other players.

What? He's about half a yard short of the players that puts the ball back across goal and the ball is hanging in the air. He could have easily challenge the player or block the header back across goal. Several players between him and the goalscorer but not the runnerOriginally posted by baitman View PostCavani being allowed to pass would have had no impact on the outcome of any play as he was no where near the ball and on the far side of several other players.

In off his thigh.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostAlso, did it not go in off Ing's hand anyway???
I think Villa will ****in do them on Saturday in the league.
And also, I'd love us to get United in the 5th round of the cup...... so happy days
Ralphy at the wheel
I agree though, that was not a performance that will have reassured any Man u supporters. Very reminiscent of the CL games where they somehow found a way to scrape through playing badly.
Villa were ripping them open at will.Modifying post.

In fairness he's had 4-5 weeks now, not. long enough time to get the message over. His worry should be he's lost two coaches and brought Ted Lasso in along with another unheard of one. Players are bleating and they still look unfit and lethargic.
Long may in continue.I make no apologies, this is me

I think they are ****ed though. The players that they have are simply not good enough. The issue there though is that they are all on waaaaaay more money that any other club will pay. So when you see Martial has told him that he wants to leave but he doesn't want to take a pay cut from his 260k per week wage that nobody else is going to pay. Same with Lingard - he would love to be playing every week at West Ham but they ain't going to pay the transfer fee and the wage that he is on - so he needs to take the signing on fee himself.
Essentially, I think they are lumbered with this group of expensive flops until their contracts run out and then they leave for nothing.

Exactly the trap we shouldnt be blindly walking into with the likes of ox and henderson.Originally posted by frank the tank View Post:

Oxlade will do what Lallana did when he was here and sit tight until his contract is up. Nobody will pay for him or pay him what lfc do. But he will get a Southampton or some other club that will take him on a free and give him a few mill to sign onOriginally posted by baitman View PostExactly the trap we shouldnt be blindly walking into with the likes of ox and henderson.
Hendo will be the new milner. Squad player and senior pro

Let's hope they don't keep being lucky and secure 4th place come the end of the season - mind you, it's either Arsenal or Spurs who can realistically challenge them for it, so I won't hold my breath...
