Solskjaer's £10m pay-off
BBC Sport
Amid the detail of Manchester United's finances came confirmation of the cost of sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager in November after an horrendous run of results.
“Exceptional items for the quarter were a cost of £10m," it stated within the accounts. "This cost includes compensation to the former men’s first team manager and certain members of the coaching staff for loss of office plus additional contributions we expect to pay towards the Football League pension scheme deficit based upon the latest actuarial valuation.”
United also confirmed they had drawn down an additional £40m from a rolling credit facility taken out to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club's debt has risen to £494.8m.What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Ronaldo refused to be in the squad when he found out he wasn’t starting…….brilliant
What an absolute **** up in the long line of absolute **** ups they continue to make
Seeing their demise is almost as enjoyable as our success - Maguire, Pogba, AWB, Ronaldo, Varane…… hugely expensive and out of their depth. Long may it continue

It must be similar to what was being seen by others when we were a mess in the mid to late 90s or when we were playing under that turd Hodgson.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I don't think Ronaldo realised what a complete **** fest he was coming into. Whatever you think about Ronaldo or whether he is on the decline is one thing but they can't seem to get the ball to him anywhere near as much as he wants or they need. The just don't have the players capable of providing quality service from the fullback or the midfield areas. Scottie Mc & Fred in the CM for Man United is just hilarious considering who they've had there in the past as are their fullbacks.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostRonaldo refused to be in the squad when he found out he wasn’t starting…….brilliant

Pogba is a lost cause, Varane's body seems to be giving up on him and seems a master stroke by Real, AWB spends most of his time sliding around the ground and in a counter attacking team he does not possess the skills to bring the ball forward so it kills them on that side. Maguire is a championship standard CB and imo one of the biggest transfer mistakes of all time. He has to play deep as he is so slow, as is Lindelhof .. so the whole backline ends up dropping deep and inviting pressure on. Rangnick doesn't seem to know how to play this team. I think from an attacking point of view they are ok and GK is good but their CM and their defenders are dog****. Just years and years of throwing money at the problem. Bruno, Sancho & De Gea are all decent, Ronaldo will score goals if they had anyone to actually provide service for him. Cavani & Varane were outstanding in their day but both cannot stay fit. The rest of the squad looks bleak although Elanga looks ok. Obviously Greenwood was very talented but he's done now.
They've been relying on individual brilliance to get them out of trouble and the fact they still are in contention for 4th show you just how inconsistent the other teams have been. Their lack of penos is interesting. I actually thought United were decent the first 30 mins vs City and gave City problems but as soon as the second half started, there was no press and no effort.. it was a really embarrassing and gutless 2nd half performance and the score line could have been a lot worse.
In saying all that, watch them fight and scrap for their very lives v us. Their biggest game of the season.Last edited by danperkins; 07-03-22, 01:11 PM.

) with my most partizan tartan tinted specs on I don’t think McTominay is one of the best midfielders in the world. Loads of potential but not quite there yet.
