The court has now sat through an hour and a half of gushing messages between Ms Greville and Mr Giggs.

In among these exchanges, he called her "the jam in my doughnut, the salt in my tequila, the truffle in my pasta".

One text from Mr Giggs said:

He shouldn't be really. He's a very good player and still just about at his peak.

The problem is that the club is in such a mess it is very hard for any player to succeed there. They set up for failure.

So yeah there is still a decent chance he'll be yet another flop.

He is a very good player, not the best passer though & sure he is going from winning possession and giving it to Modric & Kroos, to winning possession and giving it to Fred & Big Scotty. That'll be a bit of a shock for him.

He is alot better than what they have. It's a brilliant deal for Madrid imo and an even better deal for the player himself. Interesting to see firstly, how motivated he will be & secondly how he will adapt to the prem. Very physical player and strong in the tackle so you would think the league would suit but hopefully not!

If they try and play him in a 2 in midfield he’ll get exposed pretty quickly, his lack of pace I think will be an issue for him whatever formation they go for unless they sit deep which I dont think ETH is looking to play.
