From distant memory I think Clayton Blackmore also goes on that list.

Here we go;
The Manchester United captain Roy Keane has been questioned by police over claims that he threatened a neighbour with a knife.
Susan Eyres, 34, told officers the Irish international midfielder (pictured left) had shouted abuse at her after hammering on the back door of her parents' home in Altrincham.. She claimed he brandished a knife and walking stick. The row is believed to have started after Ms Eyres's brother told Keane to keep his dogs on a leash to stop them getting into his garden. A police spokesman confirmed that Keane had been interviewed and that further inquiries were being made. "On completion of these inquiries a decision as to what further action to be taken will be made," he added.Football without Origi is nothing

Is there a follow up on that? What was the eventual outcome? Don’t leave us hanging like thisOriginally posted by ChesterDave View Post

I think that might be true. But also I think a lot of it could be to do with the fact that the audio is in English.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostDon't think video and audio footage as proof of things done to women matter a jot to a certain section of society. Excuses will just be made to let the likes of Greenwood off the hook.
It’s probably for a similar reason the Anthony stuff isn’t hitting as hard because it’s in Portuguese? I don’t know, just suggesting reasons for Getafe fans being like this I suppose.*Except Michael, who died.

Quite possibly the language barrier comes into play, but am sure more than a few are happy to turn a blind eye.
As for the Antony case having less impact, think the fact the Greenwood case had audio, video and pictures linked to it out in the public domain made it more hard hitting and the audio removed a lot of the one word against another side of things imo.
Think for a lot of people, mostly men but not always, the easy thing is to blame the alleged victim or say that the victim is out for a pay day.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I suspect that it also depends how much coverage this has got in Spain and what the media are saying about him there, it could well be that the average fan there knows very little about the situation.Originally posted by Alex View PostI think that might be true. I can imagine if something similar happened with a player at one of the big clubs in Spain (unless it was a superstar, or player that had links to an English club) it would get very little coverage over here in the main stream media at least. Yes there is coverage on social media but I doubt the audio etc was as widely listened to over there as it was here, and I suspect any media outlet will say something along the lines of 'allegations were made but later dropped' and most people wouldn't dig further than that.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
