Totally agree mate. There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind other than the most parochial United fan that the guy was guilty so he’s going to have to grow a harder skin to deflect some of the **** that’ll be coming his way. Whether that be right or not , it’s gonna happen

The bottom line is ‘if’ there were an explanation as to what happened that wasn’t domestic abuse and rape, we’d have heard it by now. It was what it was, the families have stepped in and found a way for he and his partner to ‘make a go of it’. It was literally the only way to keep him out of jail.

But, Greenwood can’t have it all. If he wants to have a career as a public figure and a high profile sportsman he will also spend the rest of his career being reminded of what he did.

It is the very least he deserves.

The only way I can see it benefiting Getafe is if they want to buy him it potentially drives the price down, the counter side to that is they are putting the player in a difficult situation by highlighting it which wouldn't be a good move...
