He seems like an intelligent coach. He should have held out at Sporting until the summer as he requested. The energy that may be drained from him in the next 6 months could be quite telling.

They have to stick with him tho - he seems like he knows his stuff. He comes across well, they are just totally **** - that’s not his fault.

United need a complete rebuild. Imo they need to write off the next few seasons, have a complete clear out and get rid of all the toxic, sub standard ****e in the team and build from the ground up, slowly getting in players that can suit his system and grow together. But that ain't gone a happen, as years without champs league footie craters the finances and if he's getting ****e results how long do they stick with him. I don't know if he's any good or not but the premier league pressure is a different ball game.

What they will do is, spend a **** load of money in the next few windows and over pay massively, out of panic and desperation and because the draw to play for Man United just isn't there anymore. They don't seem to be able to pivot and form a coherent long term strategy, that delusion of still thinking they are relevant and the stink of desperation is causing them to make the same mistakes, over and over.

      It's hilarious

United had a complete clear out.

Looks at the squad Ragnick said needed 'open heart surgery'

There's only about half a dozen players (possibly 8) left from that squad.

They've completely botched the rebuild and by employing Amorim they've all but ensured they'll need to do yet another full rebuild.

This season is in the bin and so will next. More than likely the season after before they see any sort of improvement. Question is will the manager get the time (and money) required

Plus they will have PSR issues for the next 18 months at least, it will be a slow burn rebuild unless they get a crop of youngsters that can go on like they did in the 90s.

It’s brilliant. They’ve got to try and give Amorim something in January or they could get sucked into major trouble - and senior players like Fernandez won’t be up for the fight.

Their collective decision making has been appalling- keeping Ten Hag on in the summer when they could have brought in Amorim - let him sign yet more super average players.

I’d say it’s probably their lowest ebb yet.

Any wiggle room has gone unless they sell Rashford or Garnacho - Getting rid of ETH, Ashworth and hiring Rubin Interim means PSR is on the edge

He must have some ego to think you can only play football one way. I'm glad we walked away from him, he may turn out OK but he's going to have to replace about 10 players from the squad and hope all the players work out. Massive job.

Even without the change of system they probably needed to do that anyway

I thought they couldn’t get lower than peak Moyes, but here they are in 14th place and 20 (!)points behind us, having played a game more

I think they will bottom out now and start to improve, as Amorim gets his ideas across, you can see the underlying performance stats already starting to improve, though from a very low base

But agreed with the idea that this season and next season will most likely be write offs, at least at being in the mix for the title and even possibly CL qualification

They have written off at least this season, And apparently cant spend big to sort it out.
Like many of Brexit Jim's decisions it seems madness.

They went for the shiny new thing without any thought to the process

To be fair I think alot of their fans would probably have thought they were having a good season if you told them they would only be 6 points behind City at this stage

It’s a good point about spending restrictions, I hadn’t realise they had many restrictions - that could seriously slow their rebuild down

I wasn’t aware of that but it makes sense based on the coin they’ve thrown around year after year. It’s the gift that keeps on giving
