They are 6 points behind with Rooney, Van Persie & Mata to come in. Everton & Spurs aren't overly consistent either. I think they will get 4th.
    What about mutual exclusiveness?
    Are we winning?

Even without RVP and Rooney for so long and their worst run for decades, they're just 6 points off us, add to that a fresh Mata and things are going to be tight for 4th. With Spurs on the up I just don't see us grabbing that spot.
They're on their worst run for decades not some catastrophic fall off the face of the earth. Six points is six points; there was never going to be anything substantial between us. If somebody had said at the start of the season that in January that you'd be six points ahead of Manchester United, I'd have laughed.

Of course the battle for fourth is going to be a challenge and I'd say that there won't be anything more than two points between fourth and fifth. All we can do is keep doing what we're doing. But not what we did against Villa. Or Hull.

They've had Rooney and they've had Van Persie this season. Their issue is tactics and as long as Moyes keeps doing what he is doing, United will drop points in the latter half of the season too.

I don't think they'll get 4th. Going on how this season has panned out so far it's highly unlikely you'll see us, Everton and Spurs dropping enough points together for them to catch up and overtake all 3 of the sides above them.

            sorry?

I'm merely saying I fully expect Utd to get 4th place.

I never quite understand way people write them off so quickly and then they come back to haunt you. They were finished when they sold Ronaldo only they werent. RVP was a waste of money, people laughing at the amount for a 29 year old, resale value was mentioned...errr he won them the title. I prefer to not fall for it and then I'm not overly disappointed.

I understand this 100% and agree with you to a point, I don't expect them to finish 3rd but I think their chances are just as good as ours, Spurs' and Everton. With Mata they'll have three top attackers who can undo most teams in the league.

Aye even though United are on a bad run, just can't ever rule them out for the 4th spot.. it's really is up for grabs between 4 or 5 clubs.

Whats the alternative, get upset about it? Big clubs sign good players and will do for as long as we live. He's excellent but theres certainly nothing to be bothered about with that clown in charge. Its not all about players, we had Torres, Gerrard etc yet Hodgson had us on the verge of a relegation scrap.
