He reached his peak 5 or 6 years ago, massively overrated. That said, if he moved to Chelsea or City I think we'd possibly see a new Rooney, he's too safe where he is and really doesn't seem to bothered about anything. A new environment would do him the world of good.Originally posted by Norbs View PostHe's definitely reached his peak, it's a dangerous risk unless they intend to sell himSakhoPotatoes

A report today suggested the England international had signed a highly-lucrative record-breaking four-and-a-half-year deal worth in the region of £70 million to the player. The contract would see the England striker earn £300,000 a week to stay at Old Trafford until 2018.Originally posted by rcasemore View Post£300k a week for Rooney
I fancy many a Manc fan wouldn't be bothered if he left tbh
It's ****ing madness when you realise how much he might be paid over the length of the contract.
That rug really tied the room together.

crazy
this could really hurt united
£300k a week - i actually *whispers* think rooney is quality player *whispers* but £300k no ****ing way
i could understand that much if say - lionel messi's contract ended and he said right, i'm a free agent....make me your offers, and there was a biddign way by every club in the world trying to sign him
but other than a bit of muted interest from chelsea it's not like they have to offer him that much to stay
plus he's 28 - he's not going to get any better
and despite i think he's a good player, it's not like he dominates every week against every team
i hope it's true and i hope he signs it....
it will mean united are no better off on the pitch, but they will be worse off it as they won't be able to afford to offer potential new stars big wages.
plus it will prob upset the dressing room and if they don't make champions league it could be a disasteri own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think Rooney is a quality player too and there was a time I'd have loved to have him here - but there's no way he has developed into the player he should have. He's more unfulfilled potential than actual brilliance at this stage. Weight and mental issues have stunted his development.Felching ≠ Gerbilling
