I reckon the new manager announced will be Alex Ferguson.

            Don't even joke!

Just see him walking out smiling and saying he was bored and felt like having a laugh

Assume it's a hip replacement. He's 71 so recovery time (ie able to return to work as before) can be up to 6 months.

This would explain why he's retiring now and can take on less physically onerous duties at the club in the future.

Well, he'll be missed. Great manager in fairness. Pity we couldn't knock him off his perch while he was on it.

Still, he never did match Paisley's 3 European Cups - thankfully!

Will be funny if they went for someone else and they had to backtrack.

                      Someone posted this on Facebook:

First Thatcher dies then Ferguson retires.
Somewhere there is a scouser with a lamp and one wish left.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

First thatcher kicks it now dbf retires. Somewhere there's a scouser with a magic lamp with 1 wish left.

Doubtful, Justice for the 96 would have been one of the wishes.

My one regret is we never had a manager capable of knocking him off his ****ing perch.

Well, we might have had one, but us being LFC, we managed to **** that up on by ourselves.
