The rebuilding job the next manager has is titanic in all honesty and without CL football it's going to be even more difficult. Utd do have plenty of money to spend no doubt but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them do a Spurs and spend ****loads of cash on ''name'' players from abroad in the mould of Lamela, Soldado etc.

I'd say most of their current players are either past it or not good enough to begin for a team with CL aspirations - I only rate Rooney, De Gea, Carrick, Kagawa and Mata, you could possibly include RVP but there's question marks about his desire to be at Utd plus his inury record and age (31 in the summer). I'm sure some people will point out that that squad won the league a year ago but that IMO was almost entirely down to the genius of Ferguson.

Nah, with no CL next year, United will walk the league. Even Moyes couldn't fail with that sort of advantage. Hardly any point in us CL clubs even trying, we'd be as well doing a Mourinho and fielding kids in our league games next season.
