Why on earth would Ancelotti leave Real after this season?

    Comment

He could find himself out of a job in the Summer; Real aren't shy of getting rid of managers if they don't win everything on offer in a season.

It'd be madness but it's been done before by them.

I think the Mourinho saga have shown they are willing to give a bit of time now. Not as rash as earlier IMO.

But you never know with that club, that's true!

Not sure Van Gaal will be happy knowing he's just a back up should Ancelotti not lose his job. I think he'll drop his kecks and shove his bits right in their face!

It's going to be Giggs on a 1/2 year contract isn't it. I genuinely think it will be.

Thing is, no one from Guardiola, Klopp, Simeone, or Ancelotti, are ready to move yet. They all might be next year, but the moment, none of them are.

They can either go with Van Gaal now, and give him free reign to build the club in his image, or give the job to Giggs for a year, on a rolling contract. Don't think that'll happen anyway.

This is mega. Senior United players desperate for Giggs to get the job. It's only going to intensify with the piss easy fixtures they have. If LvG continues to be difficult to secure, the wins will mount up and the clamour and support for Giggs will be irresistible.

Giggs keen on full time United job
                • Ryan Giggs has a strengthening belief that he could become the permanent manager of Manchester United despite the club's plan to opt for experience
                • United's senior players want Giggs to be appointed as permanent manager

Ryan Giggs has not given up hope of being named Manchester United's next permanent manager.

It is understood the 40-year-old would be keen to succeed David Moyes, who was axed last week, if his four-game spell as interim boss goes well.

Giggs was careful not to rule himself out of the running when answering questions before and after the 4-0 victory over Norwich at Old Trafford on Saturday.

He has also seen Wayne Rooney and Anders Lindegaard both endorse his credentials in the last few days.

Privately, United have been firm in their stance that Giggs will not be considered for the job, instead preferring to focus on more experienced candidates like Louis van Gaal and Carlo Ancelotti.

But it hasn't stopped some supporters calling for Giggs to be given role permanently.

And the clamour is only likely to increase if United win their final three games against Sunderland, Hull and Southampton.

A successful end to the season could yet secure European football via the Europa League.

Despite looking to appoint a big name, the board are still keen to retain Giggs, and his Class of 92 assistants Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville, in some capacity.

But that could complicate a deal for Van Gaal, who reportedly wants to bring as many as five coaches with him to Old Trafford .

Inmates running the asylum there it seems. Fast turning into a Chelsea-like situation that will put off anybody established as a football manager.

Replace a manager who everyone saw to be out of his depth with a club legend.

If only we had experience of such happenings.

At least Kenny had management experience, and had won some trophies.

The good ship Giggseh will sink at the first sign of stormy waters.

6/1 for Giggs next manager with Coral. Got to be worth a few quid. And Ancelotti is 25/1.

They're pretty damn sure LVG is nailed on though, 1/5 cert most places.
