£59.7m

Rob Harris @RobHarris 41s
Man United shares down 2.5% today since it emerged the club had agreed to pay British record £59.7m for Di Maria

Di Maria: "United is the only club I would have left Real Madrid for."
At a time when #mufc aren't in Champions League, I rather doubt that.

WOW: Man Utd have now spent £200m in less than a year:
Fellaini - £28m
Mata - £37m
Shaw - £30m
Herrera - £29m
Rojo - £16m
Di Maria - £60mComment

Looking at the share price that means it is almost at the lowest level it has been for the last 12 months. And it will only get worse if/when Van Gaal flunks this season

Good player, though you have to question their transfer strategy. With Benatia at Bayern now, who do they go for at CB? How many top quality CBs are going to be available in the last week of the window? Hopefully they'll stick with Blackett.Comment

...and Mata. Haven't seen enough of Herrera to know either way on him. They have obviously well overpaid, but Fellaini is the only one of those who has flopped. The others may show their worth and prove long term successes. I think it's where they have failed to recruit that they have their problems.Like blood on ironComment
