So it looks like united are going to spend almost £40m on Martial (who hasn't been capped by France yet!) - Ex Monaco CEO analysis of him below:

So it's all about future projections & pricing of potential. Could be worth 10 million in a year, could be worth 80 million... (7/7)

As for the price, Monaco clearly believe Martial is to become a world beater in a 1-2 year perspective (many "insiders" seem to agree) (6/7)

On the flip side there are issues about consistency, ability to impose himself physically and possibly a certain lack of determination (5/7)

As a vague reference he can in some way be reminiscent of a young Thierry Henry (not the spitting image, but there are similarities) (4/7)

Very strong in 1v1 situations, obviously very quick/change of pace, surprisingly composed in front of goal for such a young player (3/7)

Outstanding features: smart movement, excellent close control/touch (and overall technical ability), makes everything look simple (2/7)

Some thoughts on Anthony Martial: in terms of characteristics/role he's something between a second striker & a centre forward. (1/7)

Big wedges of cash for a 19 year old striker who's hardly scored... Panic stations at Old Toilet?

Have to admit, I know nothing about this lad

Martial looks a player but he's just a prospect. They need an experienced and established striker that will score goals. Unfortunately for them time is running out.

Looked like a Kevin Lisbie clone last night. So naturally he'll score a hattrick against us in a couple of weeks then get 1 goal in 4 years after.

Hopefully he'll fail miserably for them

He'll be the best player in the world in 18months (24 tops).

Messi will be a distant memory.

But given their resources and the money they spend, they are going to get it right sooner or later and the window will close.

                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

The prospect of playing against Lovren on debut must be a pretty enticing one.

                              WTF

The deal is worth £36million but could rise to £58m with bonuses

They've really hard balled the **** out of Monaco on this one.
Kudos to the transfer negotiation team.
